Shelley Hauter is a doula and the owner of BirthDay Wish Doula. Her desire is to serve women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. As your doula, she will give you and your labor partner physical, emotional, and informational support that is professional and non-judgmental. As a Postpartum Doula she will respect and support your parenting choices.
Shelley is married to her high school sweetheart and has five children through birth and adoption. She has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and valuable experience as a Registered Nurse. Fifteen years ago, she trained to become a doula at a hospital-based doula service. It is evident that supporting pregnant mothers and birth work is in her heart. She continues her education through doula trainings, conferences and perinatal continuing education courses.
She would love to discuss with you how using the services of a professional doula can enhance the childbirth experience through education, continuous support, and compassion.
While offering Postpartum Doula Services, Shelley will help you and your family transition to life with a little one. Perhaps this is your first baby or your fifth–an extra set of hands can be exactly what is needed to bring confidence, calmness, and order to you and your home. Let your postpartum doula handle all the details of your home so you can do the most important work of resting, recovering and bonding with your little one.

What led you to become a Doula?:
I first fell in love with birth as a nursing student, as I loved labor and delivery. I continued to enjoy all things dealing with pregnancy, birth, and newborn care. My pregnancies and deliveries were highlights of my life and I have always felt blessed to be a witness to the miracle of birth. I equally love to hear the birth stories of other families. My desire is to support families as they experience the birth of their wishes.
